Kim and Eoghan have the sort of love story that screenwriters dream up. Born and raised in Ireland, Eoghan was having breakfast with his family one morning when he saw an ad in the newspaper that caught his eye. Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, Va., was looking for Irish performers. He and his younger brother decided to fly to the United States to audition. Eoghan got a job. (His brother did not.) There, in the theme park, Eoghan met Kim, who was working as a dancer. They fell in love and dated long distance as each moved for one reason or another. Finally, they decided that being together was more important than where they were living or what they were doing. So they moved together to Canada. From across the globe, their families and friends converged on Baltimore to celebrate their marriage at Memorial Episcopal Church and a reception at Westminster Hall. Despite the stifling heat — and the un-air conditioned church — I could not have had more fun documenting their wedding day. From Kim’s infectious laughter while getting ready and the traditional Irish music played during the ceremony by Eoghan’s relatives to the map guests signed in lieu of a traditional guest book and the way these two families came together as if they had known each other for decades, everything was a joy to photograph. Congratulations, Kim and Eoghan. I couldn’t be happier for you both!
