Decatur House Wedding Photography, Washington DC – Meagan and Tom

Monday, December 20th, 2010

Ceremony Location  : Dahlgren Chapel, Georgetown University

Reception location : Decatur House, Washington DC

Wedding date : November 6, 2010

Photographs by Napoleon and Shamus

Meagan and Tom were married on a brisk Fall day in Washington, DC.  It was a homecoming of sorts as they met while in in school at Georgetown Law.  Well, more specifically, they met at a local pub over a “challenge” as to who was more Irish.  Inside joke that you’d have to ask them about.  Their wedding was a photographer’s dream; it was filled with one wonderful and beautiful moment followed by another.  We started at the gorgeous Sofitel Hotel where they both got ready.  The ceremony was held in a quaint little chapel on the campus of Georgetown University.  After the group photos, the three of us boarded their limo and just drove around some spots in the city to take some photos of just the two of them.  Needless to say, Meagan and Tom caused quite a stir among the many tourists roaming about.  Their reception was held at the Decatur House just across the street from The White House.  It was absolutely beautiful!  Meagan and Tom, their families and bridal party were all so much fun to be with that it felt that I was a guest rather than their photographer.

Willard InterContinental Hotel Wedding Photography – Anne and David

Ceremony Location  : St Alousius, Washington DC

Reception location : Willard InterContinental Hotel, Washington DC

Wedding date : October 23, 2010

Anne and David were married on October 9th, 2010 in Washington DC.  The ceremony was held at the St Alousius, which was an amazing setting for their ceremony.  Then we had time to drive around in the 1943 Cadillac that they had rented for the day.  We stopped by the Senate Fountain for some “time alone” portraits.  Then we headed back to the Willard InterContinental Hotel for the reception.  The bride arranged for a surprise appearance by Slapshot the mascot for the Washington Capitals.  It was great to see how much the bride cared to put the effort into setting up Slapshot coming to the reception, and Slapshot was a big hit with all the wedding guests.  Congrats guys, and we wish you the best!

Sunset Room at National Harbor – Renee and Neal

Thursday, December 2nd, 2010

Ceremony location : Pier at National Harbor

Reception location  : Sunset Room at National Harbor

Wedding date : October 16, 2010

Photographs by Roman

Renee and Neal started their day by getting getting at the Westin at National Harbor. Following their ceremony on the pier we were able to spend some time getting more natural portraits around the National Harbor. Their reception  was very casual and had more of a night club feel rather than a traditional wedding reception. Family and friends were treated to Georgetown Cupcakes at the end of the night. Jennifer of Avalon Catering was great at keeping the event running smoothly and making sure everyone was well taken care of.

Renaissance Hotel Washington DC Wedding Photography – Danielle and Sean

Sunday, October 10th, 2010

Ceremony Location  :  Cathedral of Saint Matthew the Apostle, Washington DC

Reception location : Renaissance Hotel, Washington DC

Wedding date : August 21

When Danielle and I were going over the final details for her wedding day, she mentioned that the ceremony was the absolute most important part of the day to her and Sean. It wasn’t difficult to see why. They were married on a Saturday evening at the absolutely gorgeous Cathedral of Saint Matthew the Apostle in Washington in a full Catholic wedding Mass. The church’s rector, the Rev. Msgr. W. Ronald Jameson, is a close friend of the bride’s family. As lighthearted as the couple’s individual preparations were — the groomsmen laughing over a too-small vest and the bridesmaids teasing Danielle about all the buttons on her dress — the ceremony could not have been more reverent or lovely. It was followed by a lively reception at the Renaissance Hotel, where the bride’s step-father showed off some sweet moves on the dance floor. Since the ceremony started after dark, we had to get a little creative with locations for some nice portraits of the newlyweds. Fortunately, the hotel lobby included some fun spots that cleared out as we approached midnight. Congratulations, Danielle and Sean! It was a pleasure working with you.
