Ceremony & Reception Location  : Aspen Wye River Conference Center , Queenstown, MD

Wedding date : May 15, 2010

Katherine and Michael were married on May 15th at the Aspen Wye River Conference Center in Queenstown. Situated on over 1000 acres along the Wye River, this is not your typical conference center. Beautiful scenery in every direction lends itself to a beautiful wedding. The ceremony was right along the river. Right after the ceremony I took Katherine and Michael for a few minutes of casual portraits. This gave me a chance to capture some great portraits of the newlyweds and also provided some alone time for them. Katherine’s brother, DJ PVO, was great about keeping everyone on the dance floor.

I met Stefanie & Greg two years ago when I was photographing the wedding of her older sister, Debbie. It’s so nice to spend time with such a great family and then get to see them all again at another wedding! Stefanie & Greg could not have asked for a more beautiful day — temperatures in the low 80s, a gentle breeze off the bay and golden, glowy light that was just perfect for pictures. They were married on the beach at the Chesapeake Bay Foundation, a fantastic, eco-friendly venue right on the water in Annapolis. We had so much fun traipsing through the sand during our nice, casual portrait shoot before the ceremony. And what a fun party they threw afterward, complete with spiked lemonade, a cupcake tower, a little swing dancing and the GIANT beer glass that the bride’s relatives pass around at special family gatherings. I just wish she and Debbie had more unmarried sisters whose weddings I could photograph. Congratulations, Stefanie & Greg! (Congrats to Debbie and Jason, too, who are expecting their first baby in just a few weeks!)
